Gunther

I'm a Solution Architect and Engineer with nearly two decades of experience in software development, ranging from Java industrial solutions to web applications and mobile apps.

I was born in 1978 in Erfurt, Germany. In 2004, I successfully completed my studies as a Dipl.Ing. (BA) in Information and Communication Technologies. During my studies and subsequently, I gained extensive and formative experience in software development with Java.

My passion for Java development led me to Lake Constance in 2006. Here, I worked for several years on large projects such as REMA for Swiss Post, among others. Additionally, as a Solution Architect, I gained valuable experience in business development and product development.

After around 10 years in the realm of Java industrial solutions, I sought a new challenge in Switzerland in 2011. Here, I was able to prove myself in various web projects using common technologies, from websites to e-commerce to custom web apps. My Java expertise also opened the door to app development, initially with Android, which I was able to expand over the following years to include emerging multi-platform solutions.

My field of activity has included and continues to include full-stack software development, architecture and process definitions, DevOps and deployments, reviews, and documentation. My long-standing activities have given me a deep understanding of how business processes and applications work and their design, enabling me to solve complex problems and create robust, scalable solutions. As a communicative team player, I have worked in various setups in an agile and self-reliant manner - alone, interdisciplinary, in small, large, and international teams. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, I have also been heavily involved in the UI/UX field.

In 2014, together with a colleague, I founded Shape Media Inc., focusing on the development and evaluation of digital strategies, as well as various projects, market pilots, and digital platform and product development.

I live in Zug, where my son was born. I unwind with my small family, exploring with my son and enjoying his refreshing, childlike curiosity and openness. I also enjoy a good wine in Piedmont, a road trip across the Alps to the Côte d'Azur, or snorkeling and diving in the Maldives.

I love to laugh and enjoy cabaret on current topics - Dieter Nuhr, Lisa Eckhard, Alfred Dorfer, and Andreas Rebers are on my watchlist.
